Brent T Wise, MD

Brent Wise, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His focus is on the management of upper and lower extremity fractures, pelvic and acetabular (hip bone socket) surgery and salvaging limbs. He also focuses on treating fracture nonunion and malunion (bone breaks that do not heal properly or don’t heal at all) and osteomyelitis (a bone infection).

His patient care philosophy is to effectively provide safe, evidence-based, meticulous care. His goal is to return patients to their previous activities at the highest level of function possible, given their unique circumstances.

Dr. Wise completed a fellowship at the University of Maryland/R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, where he graduated cum laude, and completed his residency at Emory University School of Medicine.

He grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and went to Penn State on a full athletic scholarship, achieving his childhood dream of playing football for the Nittany Lions like his father. Having always been fascinated by the human body, both its physiology and mechanics, he became a doctor to make a positive impact on individuals, his community and society, while providing care and support to those in need. Dr. Wise identifies with his patients, as he broke many bones in his athletic career, and has undergone several surgeries.
