Dr. Heather Baker is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She says being a parent has helped her be a better pediatrician, especially since she can empathize with parents. Her philosophy is it’s a collaborative effort between parents and herself to come up with the best plan for a happy, healthy child. “As a parent, I’ve gone through many of the same things my patient’s parents have and that provides real-world help and guidance in addition to empathizing with what’s going on with them,” says Dr. Baker. “One of my philosophies in my practice is that it’s a collaborative effort between them and me so that we all achieve the goals of a happy, healthy child and family unit together.”
Dr. Baker earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed residency in pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital in affiliation with the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
