J. Paul Schroeppel, MD

Dr. J. Paul Schroeppel is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a subcertification in sports medicine. He completed a fellowship at the TRIA Orthopedic Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. As a central Kansas native, he grew up in Hutchinson before attending The University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree. During his fellowship in Minneapolis, he assisted in the care of professional athletes from all four major professional teams in the Twin Cities area.

As head team orthopedist for the Kansas City Chiefs and part of the care team for the Kansas City Royals, he works with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and sports medicine experts to treat professional athletes. Treating the pros, however, is only part of his work. He treats everyday athletes, weekend warriors and competitors at all levels to get them back on the field. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the hip, shoulder and knee, as well nonsurgical and surgical management of nearly all sports-related injuries. He has a special interest in adolescent and adult hip preservation and the arthroscopic management of femoroacetabular impingement and labral tears of the hip.
