Dr. Kelly Rhodes-Stark is certified by the American Board of Radiology with a subcertification in radiation oncology. She was drawn to medical oncology because of the team concept of the doctor-patient relationship and the opportunity to develop lasting and impactful connections with her patients. She chose to specialize in radiation oncology because it combines her interests in oncology, physics and radiobiology. “We are now able to target radiation to the cancer site with submillimeter accuracy, while sparing normal tissue,” says Dr. Rhodes-Stark. “This leads to markedly reduced short-term and long-term side effects, as well as the possibility of completing radiation treatment courses in just days instead of weeks. My chief focus for each of my patients is to achieve better outcomes with fewer side effects.”
Dr. Rhodes-Stark earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed residencies at the University of Louisville and the University of Kansas Medical Center.
