Matthew B Sutton, MD

Dr. Matthew Sutton is a board-certified internal medicine primary care physician serving patients in the Overland Park and Greater Kansas City area. He enjoys providing high-quality, evidence-based care. As part of an academic medical center, he develops individualized care plans with each patient to meet their individual wellness goals in alignment with collaborating specialists. His clinical interests include chronic disease management for many conditions as well as treating acute illnesses and addressing new symptoms.

Dr. Sutton practiced alongside his mentors with Saint Luke’s Health System for more than 20 years before moving to The University of Kansas Health System in 2023. He enjoys being the doctor to many healthcare professionals including doctors and nurses and their families as well as the general population. Dr. Sutton believes in patient participation in all aspects of healthcare! He prides himself on personal care delivered and being punctual with appointments while giving each patient the amount of time they need for their care and concerns.

Dr. Sutton was born and raised in Harrisonville, Missouri. He has lived in the Kansas City area since first attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine after high school. He and his wife have been blessed with 3 children and are members of the Lenexa Baptist Church. When not working on patient care, he enjoys time with family and in the outdoors, including camping, hiking and even yard work.
