Dr. Matthew Vopat is a sports medicine surgeon specializing in pediatric and adult conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He also provides care for joint preservation, arthroscopic surgery and shoulder arthroplasty. His desire is to help motivated athletes and individuals of all levels get back to their way of life so they can achieve their goals.
In addition to working with athletes in the Kansas City area, Dr. Vopat spends time in Great Bend, Kansas, providing care to athletes and individuals in rural America to ensure they can pursue their ambitions whether that be kicking goals, running touchdowns or providing for their families. He is also currently a team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team.
Dr. Vopat earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine - Wichita. He then completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado.
Growing up on a small family farm in central Kansas gave Dr. Vopat a unique perspective on the importance of maintaining one’s physical and mental health.
