McCasey R Smith, MD

As a physiatrist, Dr. McCasey Smith treats patients with all forms of spine pain as well as joint, tendon and cartilage injuries. He is an expert in utilizing the patient's history in combination with a comprehensive musculoskeletal and neurologic examination to make an accurate assessment and diagnosis. His goal is to help address anatomic deficiencies so a person may achieve lifelong improvements. Dr. Smith provides individualized activity modification and therapy prescriptions to restore function and decrease pain. Although his primary goal is to help empower the patient to correct biomechanical deficiencies, he also uses medications and procedures to help provide temporary pain relief. He performs procedures such as ultrasound guided joint injections, tenotomies, fluoroscopic spine injections, nerve cryoablation, nerve thermoablation and spinal cord stimulator implant trials to treat patients.

Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He completed a fellowship in interventional musculoskeletal and spine medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor University College of Medicine. His professional mission is to help empower his patients to achieve functional restoration and improve quality of life.
