Shawn B Sood, MD

Dr. Shawn B. Sood specializes in pediatric critical care medicine and is an expert in advanced life support for children from term or near-term newborns to adolescents. His competence extends to the critical care management of life-threatening organ system failure from any cause in both medical and surgical patients, as well as to the support of vital physiological functions.

Your child's safety and the quality of care provided to your child and family is Dr. Sood’s utmost priority. Common conditions he treats include severe asthma attacks, diabetic ketoacidosis, pneumonia, meningitis and serious injuries from accidents, including those involving vehicles like cars, bicycles and ATVs. He actively participates in research to advance outcomes in treatment of critically ill pediatric patients.

Dr. Sood was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After completing his undergraduate education in New York and medical school at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., he returned home to complete his residency training. He completed his fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Dr. Sood is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine.
