Dr. Uyen (Eileen) Vu is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She strives to be the type of pediatrician she would want for her own family and would never recommend to a parent something that she wouldn’t do for her own children. “I had my first child about a month into my pediatric training,” says Dr. Vu. “Being a parent gives me more empathy and perspective, especially when children come in who are sick. When I treat a child, I like to get a lot of input from the parents and families because they are the experts on their child. I do a lot of listening and then together we formulate a plan, so they understand exactly what we’re doing. I don’t want families to feel I’m making decisions for them. I want them to feel like we’ve made the decision together.”
Dr. Vu earned her medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed residency in pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
