Dr. William Poulson is a vascular surgeon who cares for patients of all ages. Among the many diagnoses he treats are aortic aneurysms and dissections, carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease (PAD), critical limb ischemia/limb salvage, deep vein thrombosis and thoracic outlet syndrome. He is skilled in endovascular and open aortic aneurysm repair, transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR), endovascular lower extremity interventions, and dozens of other procedures and surgeries.
Like many other doctors, Dr. Poulson became a doctor to help people, provide better continuity of care and give patients a better quality of life. His philosophy of care is to “Treat patients like family.”
Dr. Poulson, who grew up in Leawood, Kansas, is certified by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts - General Surgery Board. He earned his medical degree at the University of Kansas Medical Center and went on to complete his general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center before returning to Kansas City. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons and Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society.
In his free time, Dr. Poulson loves spending time with his wife and kids as well as cooking, bicycling and running.
